WIIS Brussels, WIIS-DC, WIIS France, and WIIS UK invite members of all WIIS chapters to submit an application to attend programming along the sidelines of the December 2019 NATO Leaders meeting in London! Applicants chosen by the selection committee will participate in events on December 3rd and 4th, sponsored by the NATO Engages Consortium, and meetings on December 5th, organized by WIIS. The primary topic of discussion will be “What Role for NATO in the Digital Age?” Following the event, selected applicants will be required to co-author an article and record a podcast with one of the other participants. The article will address a topic of the pairing’s choosing that relates to discussions from the Summit’s programming. WIIS will publish the articles with a London-based think tank and provide equipment for participants to record the podcast. To apply, please submit a one-page resume and short statement of interest (500 words maximum) to wiis.natolondon@gmail.com with the subject line “Completed Application for London Leaders Summit.” The statement of interest should outline your professional background and motivation for participating in the programming.

WIIS will provide accommodation for the duration of the programming and reimburse participants for travel costs to and from the Summit at an economy fare up to $300 (for those travelling within Europe) and up to $1,000 (for those travelling from elsewhere).

Eligibility:

• Members of any WIIS chapter with special preference given to applicants from NATO allied and partner countries

• Between the ages of 25 and 40

• Experience working on topics related to NATO, cyber security, technology, artificial intelligence, transatlantic security, and defense policy

• Available to attend the entirety of programming, from the morning of December 3rd through the evening of December 5th
